Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then located numerous other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say preliminary tests indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no indication as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.
City officials stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for information.
A high-ranking representative commented the attack left him without words and had to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
