The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in search of the traitor.
